Secure Virtual Tutoring sessions for your child via your Back-Up Care Benefit
Exciting news - You can now reserve 1-1 virtual tutoring sessions through your employer-sponsored Bright Horizons Back-Up Care benefit, in partnership with award-winning tuition experts, Explore Learning
How does it work?
Each of your Back-Up Care uses can be exchanged for a block of tutoring, which equates to four x 1 hour weekly 1-1 virtual tutoring sessions.
Your child will be matched with an expert tutor who will support their learning through live online one-to-one sessions.
Tuition is available to support your child with:
- Maths and English (4-14 years)
- 11+, Transfer Tests and entrance exam preparation (8-11 years)
- GCSE Maths, CCEAs, Junior Certificate Maths and equivalent (13-17 years)
Please note: Virtual tutoring credits cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer or membership type, including in-centre tuition.
How do I book?
Each of your Back-Up Care uses can be exchanged for four x 1 hour weekly 1-1 virtual tutoring sessions.
To reserve Virtual Tutoring, simply:
- Log in to your Back-Up Care account
- Navigate to Virtual Tutoring by clicking Request Tuition and Request Care.
- Follow the steps to exchange your Back-Up Care uses for a block of tutoring sessions (4 x 1-hour weekly sessions)
If you’re a first-time user, you may be prompted for your employer username and password when registering. This can usually be found on your company’s intranet page – or you can call us on UK: 0800 247 1101 IE: 1 800 303 547.
Before you book exam tuition:
Before booking 11+, Transfer Tests and entrance exam tuition, please be aware of your child’s exam papers, subjects and requirements prior to making your booking. For more information on finding out your grammar school's entry requirements*, click here.
For GCSE Maths tuition, please be aware of your child’s GCSE Maths Exam Board prior to making your booking.
This information will support Explore Learning in getting your child started quicker.
*If your child is planning on attending an independent school, please research the school requirements prior to making your booking.

Please note: It is not possible to book directly with Explore Learning when exchanging Back-Up Care uses. To book additional sessions, please go back to your Bright Horizons booking process to purchase more credits.
What happens next?
A member of the Explore Learning team will be in touch within 48 hours* to book your weekly sessions. Your sessions can be arranged at a time that suits you and you can chat to the team to learn more about how it all works and ask any questions you might have.

*This time may be longer if we receive your booking over the weekend.
