In March 2017, the Indian government introduced an amendment to the 1961 Maternity Benefit Act. The Amendment provides a significant opportunity in India for both working families and employers: enabling parents to remain in the workforce and have access to reliable childcare, and for organisations to retain and foster a workforce that is engaged, focussed and productive through the parenting life stage.
Two years later we have reflected on what has changed since the implementation of the Amendment and share key learnings and examples with employers.
