Returning to work from any form of career break can be a daunting transition as well as a potential fresh start. Many of our client organisations now have career comeback / returnship programmes and we’ve provided very successful coaching – both one-to-one and in group coaching workshops – to support these.
In all kinds of returnship coaching, the coach and returner will often focus strongly on the first 100 days back, identifying early wins to underline success, build confidence and enhance professional profile. Individuals may focus on developing influencing skills to navigate boundaries or to set up suitable working arrangements and realistic deliverables, manage personal energy and (re)build networks. We also encourage the coachee to think from their manager’s point of view about the requirements & priorities of the role and develop success strategies with that in mind.
